Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know about Lawnware ceramics, shipping and the studio.

Products & craft

Are Lawnware ceramics handmade?

Yes. Every piece is hand-thrown or hand-cast and hand-glazed by Lize Lawn in her East Sussex studio. There is no factory production, no transferware and no outsourcing.

What materials do you use?

British-sourced stoneware and porcelain clay, with hand-mixed mineral glazes (iron oxide, wood ash, feldspar, rutile, copper). All pieces are food-safe and lead-free.

Are Lawnware pieces dishwasher and microwave safe?

Yes. All Lawnware tableware is fired to 1240–1280°C and is dishwasher-tolerant and microwave-safe. We recommend hand-washing for longest life of unglazed footrings.

How do I care for my Lawnware piece?

Hand-wash in warm soapy water for everyday care. Avoid sudden temperature shocks (e.g. fridge straight to oven). Glazed surfaces are easy to clean — no special detergent needed.
